Our mission is to foster collaboration, professional growth, and shared learning through a strong network of like-minded professionals. By offering access to exclusive educational events, workshops, and resources, we aim to empower coaches with the tools they need to elevate their practice and impact.

Coaching for impact, performance and culture workshop
Ric Charlesworth
Ric Charlesworth is one of Australia’s most accomplished high-performance coaches, best known for leading the Australian women’s hockey team (the Hockeyroos) to multiple Olympic and World Cup titles during the 1990s. A former elite player and dual international in both hockey and cricket, he later transitioned into coaching with a strong emphasis on discipline, adaptability, and team culture. Ric also coached the Australian men’s hockey team (the Kookaburras) to Olympic and World Cup success, reinforcing his reputation as one of the sport’s great leaders. Beyond hockey, he has worked in sports administration and leadership, and is widely respected for his insights into high performance and coaching philosophy

DISC PROFILING - June 2026
Sandy Gordon
Eligible* coaches will be afforded the opportunity to complete DISC profiling with Sports Psychologist Sandy Gordon. DISC profiling is a personality assessment which enables coaches to understand, and therefore improve, their ability to communicate and lead effectively. This assessment will be facilitated by Sandy Gordon who has spent over 30 years working with some the nation's best athletes and coaches. Alongside his practical work, Sandy has featured as the keynote speaker at over 20 national and international conferences, as well as authoring over 30 peer reviewed articles on resilience and mental toughness.
*To be eligible, coaches must meet the network eligibility criteria and attend the launch event.

Sports Science for Coaches - July 2026
Chris Wing
Chris is the current High Performance Manager for the PRAS program. Chris has a wealth of coaching experience across multiple sports both in Australia and the UK. This includes current coaching roles at the Football Australia National Training Centre (Football West) and South Fremantle Football Club, and previously with Perth Glory FC, Luton Town FC and with the UK Tchoukball team. Chris has completed a PhD at Edith Cowan University, as well as a masters degree in Strength and Conditioning. He is an accredited Strength and Conditioning coach with the Australian Strength and Conditioning Association, as well as an accredited Sport Scientist and Exercise Scientist with Exercise and Sports Science Australia.

Body Image in Sport - August 2026
The Butterfly Foundation
Butterfly Foundation is the national charity for anyone in Australia impacted by eating disorders and body image issues, as well as the friends, families and communities who support them. Since 2007, Butterfly has worked with sporting organisations and governing bodies across all levels—from grassroots to high performance. They build awareness, deliver education and collaborate closely to embed BodyKind practices, creating supportive, safe environments where young athletes navigating puberty, adolescence and competitive sports can thrive.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible to register for the coaches network, the following criteria must be met by the coach:

Reside within the Peel Region of WA.

Be actively coaching within a volunteer or paid capacity.

Have at least a level 1 coaching qualification or equivalent.

Be verified by PRAS as a current local coach.
